The Department of Otorhinolaryngology is the bastion of ear, nose, and throat (ENT) care. 91 years since its inception in 1911, the department continues to provide excellence and leadership in community-oriented medical education and activities in Otorhinolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery.
Today, the department is the largest tertiary Otorhinolaryngology service in the country, with 26 consultants and 26 residents serving close to 50,000 outpatients and 3,600 emergency patients and performing 3,000 in and outpatient surgeries, 1,500 audiologic procedures and 200 prosthetic fabrications annually. Its staff members are nationally and internationally recognized for their academic and clinical activities, publications and innovations, and community service. Consistent with the department’s prime objective to address the Filipino’s health needs, the Department of Otorhinolaryngology will soon be a National Referral Center for Otorhinolaryngology of the Department of Health.
