The Philippine College of Physicians
39th Annual Convention
SMX Convention Center
May 3-6, 2009
The Organizing Committee of the 39th PCP Annual Convention is inviting you to take a closer look at the scientific sessions being prepared for you on May 3-6, 2009 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City. They are timely as they are relevant, and they are aimed to challenge you intellectually as they confront current paradigms.
What every general internist or sub-specialist should be reminded of about Internal Medicine takes center-stage this year as we take stock of the many things that impact the medical profession : New findings and basic knowledge in clinical medicine, innovations and challenges to current thinking, ethics and health policy, career management, health advocacy and legislation, etc. This year, we move on from previous themes that sought to redefine the Filipino physician and gain global competitiveness to “Partnership, Change, & Professionalism in Medicine”, a call for readiness to engage the world as we adapt to change, build alliances, and strengthen our character.
Last year, we experienced an ‘international ambiance’ as the SMX Convention Center opened its doors for the first time. This year, 15 months of further refinements in its facilities and services augur well for an even more spacious and world-class convention center. We are ‘up-scaling’ our exhibit halls, engaging more partners, inviting Filipino internists in America as well as internists from the ASEAN region. Indeed, we are serious about building alliances beyond our shores.
Our social events will also be a step-up to a more interactive participation of the various PCP chapters and component societies, with a step-down on formalities and a thrust towards a more casual flair. We promise you fun!
Block off May 3-6, 2009, register early, and make plans for a very informative, stimulating, and memorable convention. Be a part of the movement to define and refine the essence of the physician in these times when partnerships, change and professionalism define who and what we are!
My best regards,
