Sunken cemetery, Camiguin Island
Due to the eruption of Mount Vulcan , the capital of Camiguin and its cemetery literally sunk under the sea. To spot the place a huge cross was built on the solidified lava in 1982.
The large cross marks the site that became the graves of the ancestors of the Camiguin people. It has become a sunken cemetery. Now, it is one of the nation’s most unique diving sites and tourist attraction.
